A Douglas Fir, acrylic on canvas, 50 ”x36”

Found imagery, but I’m certain it wouldn’t take me long to find a grand old tree like this in some close by forest. Something about this composition that made it look finished very early in making the first marks. This was the first time I did a set of Doulas Fir trees in portrait orientation. This way, it speaks more to their monumental height.
